Anja Rubik takes a break from shooting with Karl Lagerfeld and pushing around Karlie Kloss to do yoga with Nintendo Wii
Here at Teen Vogue we are all about collaborations--designer collections at Target, celebrity lines with designers, and now Anja Rubik with Nintendo Wii! The supermodel partnered up with the video game company in their development of a yoga program that novices and pros alike can use from home to hone in their yoga skills and stay in shape. We chatted with the Polish beauty and now face of Wii Fit Yoga (among many other high-end campaigns and editorials) to find out how this pairing came about.
How did you start practicing yoga?
About three years ago, my friend who owns a yoga studio introduced me to yoga because I was having a lot of lower-back pain from wearing high heels so often and from flying so much. It made me feel a lot better, and I haven't stopped since.
How did you get involved with Nintendo for the Wii Fit Yoga?
People would always ask me how I stay in shape, and I would tell them, "yoga!" Someone at Nintendo heard and contacted me, and I was happy to be a part of it.
How does this program change your perception of yoga?
In a way, this program is a revolution, because it gives people who don't have a yoga studio on every block--like we have here in New York--a chance to practice it when they have time and at their own speed.
What are some of the unique features that Wii Yoga offers?
There is a student function, which aims to release back tension in students who spend most of their day sitting. There's also a regime for those feeling they have a cold coming on. It's a series of poses that target parts of the body that are able to stimulate the immune system. It's very cool!
With your insanely busy schedule, do you have time to practice yoga as often as you'd like?
I am very busy--I'm kind of a workaholic--but I make time for yoga at least four times a week, wherever I am.
And where have you been lately?
I just got back from LA and am going again later this week to shoot for Japanese Vogue after staying in New York a few more days to shoot for French Vogue and for Karl Lagerfeld's ad campaign. It's so crazy right now!
That's quite a bit of traveling, has any of it been for fun?
Actually, I recently spent three weeks backpacking through Thailand and also spent a few days in an eco-hotel in Tulum, Mexico--both were amazing. But to relax, I like to come to New York. I know it sounds crazy, but it's where I live.
You walked in some outrageous designs this past season that must have added stress on your body. Was anything particularly memorable?
For Viktor and Rolf, they made the runway very narrow, and a lot of us girls were wearing these crazy, large cut-out dresses, and Karlie Kloss and I joked about pushing each other off of the runway so we could get by. That was a lot of fun!

Questions arise over Demi Moore's magazine cover as readers ask: Is it really her body?
First it was pointed out that a chunk of her hip was missing in a photoshoot.
Now fashion observers are even saying it might not be Demi Moore's body at all on the cover of W magazine.
Questions are now being asked whether the body on the cover actually belongs to catwalk model Anja Rubik.
